Louise McElhinney – Surrey County Council Candidate for Woking North

Louise McElhinney has been a pivotal part of the Woking Liberal Democrats’ campaign team for 3 years. But she thinks that it is time to bring both her passion and strong executive skills to tackle the many serious challenges within Surrey County Council.

Louise is a dedicated public servant with extensive experience in education, leadership, and community campaigning. With 12 years of experience as a primary school teacher, Louise is particularly passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEND). She is committed to advocating for a system that meets the needs of every child and gives them the opportunity to succeed.

As a proven leader, Louise has successfully managed campaigns and inspired volunteers in her role as Campaign Manager for the Liberal Democrats. Her strategic planning, strong communication skills, and ability to motivate people have made her a key asset to her community. A confident public speaker, Louise’s determination, grit, and commitment to Liberal Democrat values make her a tireless advocate for the people of Woking, always striving to bring about meaningful change.

Louise said, “As a mother of two school-age children, I face many of the same daily struggles as so many other families in Surrey, whether that’s navigating the SEND system, dealing with poor highways, or any of a number of other local service issues. Enough is enough. I am committed to delivering real results for Woking North and ensuring the voices of local residents are heard at County Hall.”
