Clr Ann-Marie Barker
Ann-Marie Barker has worked hard to represent Goldsworth Park on Woking Borough Council since 2016. She cares about our community and has arranged for fly-tipped rubbish to be cleaned up, ensured residents’ faulty heating systems have been repaired and championed the cause to keep the area near Goldsworth Park lake to be kept clean and safe. Ann-Marie also regularly takes part in litter picks organized by GPCA. She is always available to speak to residents who seek her support, and holds monthly surgeries in Quackers for residents to raise with her issues that matter.
Ann-Marie became Leader of the Council in 2022 when the current Liberal Democrat administration took over. Over the last two years, she has worked tirelessly to unpick the significant financial problems and enormous debt built up by the previous Conservative administration, and has overseen a review of the Council’s structure and services to enable the Council to provide high quality services to all residents in a financially efficient and viable way.
Ann-Marie is delighted to restand as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Goldsworth Park in this May’s local elections, and to continue working with the existing highly effective Lib Dem team. A vote for Ann-Marie will help to ensure residents of Goldsworth Park re-elect a highly effective local councillor to continue working hard for them.
Ann-Marie Barker lives locally with her husband and daughter, and can often be seen walking Daisy, her Jack Russell cross.
