Open the Road – Call on Sir Robert McAlpine to Act Now

We, the undersigned, are calling on Sir Robert McAlpine to urgently fix the cladding issues at the Hilton Hotel in Woking, which have caused repeated safety risks, road closures, and disruption for local residents and businesses.

Victoria Way is a vital route through Woking. Yet time and again, it has been shut down because cladding from the Hilton Hotel has come loose – most recently after Storm Eowyn, just 11 days after the road was reopened.

This issue has been ongoing for years, and enough is enough. These repeated closures are unacceptable and have left our community facing:

·      Risks to public safety.

·      Huge inconvenience for local residents and motorists.

·      Financial losses for businesses already under pressure.

It’s time for Sir Robert McAlpine to take responsibility. We demand:

1. Safety measures be put in place which can allow the road to be reopened now.

2. A clear plan to fix the cladding permanently while the route remains open.

3. If needed for short periods of closure, make alterations to existing routes to ease congestion at your own expense.

Our community deserves better. Sign this petition and join us in standing up for Woking. Together, we can send a strong message to Sir Robert McAlpine: fix this mess, take responsibility, and put things right.
