Woking’s MP calls for safety guarantee for siblings of child victim, Sara Sharif.
On Tuesday 22nd October Woking MP called on the Government to either write to or raise with the Pakistani Government that they either vouch for the safety of the siblings of Sara Sharif or that those children should be returned to the UK.
Will Forster MP was addressing Hamish Falconer MP, Minister at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office when outlining his concerns about the children’s whereabouts.
Will Forster, Lib Dem MP for Woking, said:
“I'm sure the Minister is aware of the tragic case of Sarah Sharif in my constituency in Woking.
“What they might not be aware is when Sarah's family fled Woking to Pakistan, they took Sara's two children, two siblings with them.
“They did not return.
“Those siblings did not return when the parents returned to stand trial.”
Mr Forster ended his speech by calling for the Government to make contact with the Pakistani Government to either verify the children’s safety, or arrange their return to the UK.
The Minister responded by agreeing to a meeting to further discuss the case.
