Woking Travel Centre

28 Jan 2006

Following complaints from many local residents (including his wife!), LibDem Deputy Group Leader Cllr Philip Goldenberg insisted that the Council press Woking Station to keep their Travel Centre open at published hours for the benefit of both local residents and South West Trains' own staff.

As a result of this pressure South West Trains have agreed to publish each Friday the opening times for the following week, and to increase those hours when staff resources permit.

"I am glad we have achieved this result," said Cllr Goldenberg. "If any traveller wants to make a complicated booking, it's much more pleasant to use the Travel Centre. And it causes less frustration to other passengers wanting to make a swift purchase of a simple ticket before their train disappears out of the station!"
