Chris Took, Woking Liberal Democrat's Parliamentary candidate for the forthcoming General Election, took a break from his campaign activity to swim 100 pool lengths (2.5km) in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Held over the weekend of 17-19 April, Swimathon 2015 welcomed thousands of swimmers to take on the challenge and go that extra length to help support Marie Curie provide care for people with terminal illnesses across the UK with hours of health care and professionals to support themselves and their families go through those tough times.

"Swimathon provides motivation and a personal challenge to swimmers nationwide. It also offers a goal to train for, a target to achieve and a great cause to support." Duncan Goodhew MBE, Olympic gold medallist, London 2012 Ambassador and Swimathon President.

Chris added "I'm halfway to my £250 fundraising target and hope to exceed this once I've collected all of my offline sponsorship. I've not been in a pool for the best part of a year so it was quite a challenge, especially toward the end!"
