Woking Hospital extension plan submitted
The Lib Dems have welcomed plans to expand Woking Community Hospital to offer more diagnostic services locally.
Following a motion from Will Forster, Woking Borough Council agreed to work with the NHS to bring much needed health facilities to Woking. The Council has now received a planning application from the NHS to enable them to extension the Community Hospital.
The expansion with mean breast screening, CR, MRI and Ultrasound services will be offered at the Heathside Road hospital. The NHS also hopes to offer a full range of cardiac, respiratory and sleep studies testing services in Woking.
Will Forster said, “I am delighted plans to expand Woking Community Hospital are well underway, it’s vital we have more health facilities in Woking - rather than forcing people to travel outside of the Borough for basic services.”
“The investment at Woking’s Hospital aims to reduce waits, speed up treatment and turn the building into a vibrant and modern health facility.”
