Who is Will Forster?
Will is a local Councillor, life-long resident and former Mayor of Woking. He has the experience to serve as Member of Parliament for Woking.
Will has been a Borough and County Councillor for south Woking for the last decade. Until May 2019 he was Mayor of Woking, when Will strongly supported the Borough's voluntary sector and raised tens of thousands of pounds for his Mayor's Charity the York Road Project, a local homeless shelter.
Will grew up in Goldsworth Park and Horsell, where he attended local schools including Horsell Church of England Middle School, Woking High School and Woking College. Will lived in Westfield for many years and now lives by Woking Park with his partner Hannah and their sausage dog Toffee.
The Lib Dems won the European Parliament elections in May 2019 in Woking. This was the last election we had in Woking and localised opinion polls say this General Election will be really close between the Lib Dems and Conservatives. The Lib Dems are fighting hard to win Woking again on 12th December.
The Lib Dem message of 'Stop Brexit' represents the majority of voters in Woking. The Lib Dems will either revoke Article 50 if in Government or will continue to push for a People's Vote to end the Brexit chaos.
Will Forster said:
"Woking didn't vote for Brexit and we don't want it now. I want to stop Brexit so we can focus on investing in our NHS and schools, fighting climate change and fixing the issues that affect people every day. Brexit has dominated the last 3 years and it must not dominate the next - that's one of the many reasons why the Lib Dems and I want to stop it."
"The plans for Brexit would be disastrous for Woking and for the country and I intend to do my upmost to stop them. I know so many people, including lifelong Conservatives, who are unhappy with Woking's current MP for backing a Hard Brexit agenda. Local people rightly feel they are not being properly represented on the key issue of our time. As the MP for Woking I would always back residents and represent their views."
