Lords a visiting

30 Apr 2010

No this is not a story about Jonty Lord getting his A to Z out and visiting Woking. Its about members of the House of Lords visiting to support Rosie.

After the visit of Lord McNally to launch our campaign, we welcomed Lord Brian Cotter, former Woking Councillor and Lib Dem MP for Weston-Super-Mare.

Brian campaigned with Norman Johns and Rosie in Mt Hermon West (Brian's old Council seat).

We also visited Mrs Sood who runs the very popular paper shop next to the station. Unfortunately the business has recently lost its Post Office. Lord Cotter is the Lib Dem spokesperson for small businesses in the Lords and was able to detail the Lib Dem policy on Post Offices.

Lord Dholakia thoroughly enjoyed canvassing in Maybury with our council candidate Shabanna Jamil on Tuesday 27th, where it was difficult to progress down Walton Road for the well-wishers and Lib Dem supporters.

And on Thursday (29th) Baroness Sharp visited and went canvassing in Horsell. She has been in education all her life and was very instrumental in the Lib Dem opposition to tuition fees. Rosie had a good chat on education policy.
