The Lib Dems are totally opposed to the Tory Executive's proposal to make money by axing disabled Blue Badge holder's free parking in Council car parks and called in the paper for investigation.

In an interesting twist, by the time the paper re-appeared at the Overview & Scrutiny Committee it contained a completely different set of proposals and also suggesting to restrict users to using only one of the car parks.

Woking has never charged disabled people for parking before and we see no good reason to do so now. We will continue to fight these charges and do our best to protect the interests of those with disabilities. Life is tough and it sure is not a level playing field.

Woking Borough Council are currently carrying out a public consultation which ends on 14th February.
