The Lib Dem team in Hoe Valley are pleased to report that they have got Surrey County Council to agree to build a pedestrian refuge island on Westfield Avenue, near the junction with Kingfield Road.

The Council, via the Woking Joint Committee meeting on 4th April, will commit to funding and building a crossing island at the north end of Westfield Avenue between now and the end of the 2022/23 financial year.

Lib Dem Councillor, Will Forster, said:

"I am delighted the County Council has listened to our local concerns from Andy Caulfield and I about road safety at the junction of Kingfield Road and Westfield Avenue. When this refuge island is built, it will ensure people crossing Westfield Avenue between the Hoe Valley Linear Park and Woking Park are be able to do so safely."
