Labour wrong to cap Surrey police

17 Jun 2009

Cllr Rosie Sharpley has condemned the Labour government's decision to cap Surrey Police Authority's spending.

The funding cap will save just 6p per week on Council Tax but will mean over 100 posts will go. Rosie said "We need more police not less as highlighted by the recent damage to The Lodge, graffiti to the new car park and fire damage to shrubs around the lake.

"I am pressing for CCTV around Goldwater Lodge as they have had their roof repeatedly stripped and damaged and evidence is hard to obtain.
