Hold them to account petition submitted!

Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate Will Forster has presented his petition signed by1970 local people to the Government calling on those responsible for effectively bankrupting Woking Borough Council to be held to account.

Following the Lib Dems taking control of Woking Council, they set by an independent review into the actions and decisions of the former administration that let to the Borough Council’s financial woes.

With the review in its final stages, Will Forster and the Lib Dems have now submitted their petition to the Government department that oversees councils - the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities - to ensure that the authorities take action against those identified as responsible by the review.

Will Forster said, “Woking residents are suffering due to the national cost of living crisis and the local council’s effective bankruptcy, it’s just not fair.  My petition seeks to hold those at fault fully accountable for what’s happened.”
