Will Forster MP's Christmas Appeal

Will Forster MP's Christmas Appeal 2024

This year – and his first as an MP – Will is leading a local Christmas Appeal to highlight the issue of food poverty in Woking and bring the community together in support for Woking Food Bank, by launching a Reverse Advent Calendar campaign.

What is a Reverse Advent Calendar?

A reverse advent calendar is a new tradition where you collect items to donate to a charity, food bank, or shelter instead of opening calendar doors to receive chocolates or gifts.

How it works:

Each day, you put an item in a box or basket wrapped in decorative decorative Christmas paper. When the box is full, you donate it to a charity.

What to donate:

Items can include non-perishable food, toiletries, household essentials like cleaning products and paper towels, and items for babies and children (nappies, wipes etc).

How to make it fun!

Reverse advent calendars can be a great way of engaging the whole family in a new Christmas tradition! Children can help by choosing what to donate, decorating the box, or writing or drawing the item on the calendar. It’s also a great way to teach them about social responsibility and giving back

How to make your own Reverse Advent Calendar:

πŸŽ„ Print out the Reverse Advent Calendar (download a colour or b&w version on these links!)

πŸŽ„ Find a box big enough to fit 25 items

πŸŽ„ Wrap your box in colourful Christmas paper and decorations

πŸŽ„ Each day, add an item to the box, and mark it on the calendar

πŸŽ„ When the box is full, donate it to the Woking Food Bank
