'This is the first gift we have received' said a delighted Charles Kennedy as he and his wife, Sarah, received a suitably attired Rupert Bear from Dr Anne Lee, Woking Liberal Democrat's Parliamentary spokesperson on a recent visit to Surrey.

Anne said "A baby due in April could play havoc with Charles Kennedy's General Election plans, but it would be worth it. Charles has gone out of his way to come to Woking three times recently, and we wanted to say 'thank you, and keep coming'.

"It is wonderful news, and it could be three for the price of one? I was pleased that Sarah looked so well and both of them are obviously chuffed to bits".
